I create smoke fired ceramic vessels and sculptural pieces using traditional hand building pottery techniques that connect me to a slower, more contemplative pace of life.

Using simple forms, with burnished or textured surfaces, I take inspiration from often unnoticed aspects of our environment - a weathered surface, a hidden layer or a neglected space.

The atmospheric markings that result from handing each piece to the chance and drama of fire leave numerous narratives to be discovered by the viewer.
